Mr. MacNeil's performs in the ancient garb of the 16th, 17th, and 18th century Highlander; outfitted in old Scottish Highland Dress of Belted Plaid and slashed Highland Doublet or, Highland Tartan Coatee. Traditional weaponry is included.
Mr MacNeil's instruments, costume and weaponry are historically authentic and functional. Commentary may be interspersed throughout the performance on request, providing fascinating historical notes on the instrument, musical piece, weapon and costume.
In addition to Mr MacNeil's expertise on the Bagpipe, his performances showcase his skills as a swordsman, horseman and antiquarian. His personal collections of authentic 15th-18th century clothing, instruments and weaponry make his musical performances and lectures visually interesting and intellectually stimulating. Mr MacNeil's performance is educational, entertaining and fun for adults and children of all ages.
Mr. MacNeil provides personal instruction in the Gaelic Language, as well as musical instruction in piping and other instruments. His knowledge and personal experience have benefited his students over the years.
